Evaluators must operate in a multicontextual environment with multiple stakeholders. As the hierarchy of stakeholders becomes more complex, evaluators must react to and work within the ecological environment in which their evaluated programs are conducted. Recognizing the factors that influence the evaluation plan and knowing the best strategies in dealing with different authorizing environments can reduce the difficulty of negotiating with multiple stakeholders and increase the evaluation's validity. Process improvement evaluation approach using flow diagrams

Abstract Maintaining company processes will afford optimum operation and enhance the company's quality management system. A vital part of maintaining processes is their periodic evaluation. An important part of the monitoring and evaluation process is the flow diagram. A detailed flow diagram is an important tool that affords ease in visualizing the total process and is an aid in locating problem areas. The evaluation of a process is broken down into 15 steps. These steps cover gathering pertinent information, such as problem symptoms from knowledgeable sources and carrying these through their route to potential problem areas to the problems, potential causes, and the root cause of the problem. Knowing the problems brings about the need to assess their impact on the process operation as well as what changes to the process are needed and what impact these changes will have on the product , its improved quality and cost , and other vital information, such as, production rate increase, competition status, and company image. With this information, the appropriate changes are made according to a process change action plan. Development of the web-based type 2diabetes education programme: DIEP

Abstract Background: Education is an essential part of diabetes care. However, in The Netherlands, no education programme was available for everyone at any time and adaptive to users' specific needs. Aim: To describe the structured development and final content of a type 2 diabetes web-based education programme. Methods: A web-based education programme,the Diabetes Interactive Education Programme (DIEP),was developed using intervention mapping and involved collaboration between programme planners, Dutch diabetes organisations and potential users (patients and healthcare providers). DIEP incorporates information, multimedia and tools to support self-reflection, goal setting, problem solving and active patient participation. Results:www.diep.info consists of seven chapters with basic and additional information, a dictionary, self-management checklists and a workbook for goal setting and preparation for consultations. The information included is mostly spoken text supported by headlines, images, video and patient experiences. Adoption, implementation and evaluation plans have been made. Outcomes of the process and effect evaluation will be reported in the future. Conclusions: DIEP is a unique education programme, based on theory and planned development, which is supported by diabetes organisations. By using multimedia and incorporating different functionalities, DIEP attempts to meet the current practice requirements. A Review of Outcome Measures in Early Childhood Programs

Abstract, The authors undertook a review of measures available for assessing outcomes of early childhood services for children with disabilities and their families. With principles of family-centered practice mandating the inclusion of both family and child outcome measures in effective evaluation plans, the review examined measures with established psychometric properties for (a) documenting the effectiveness of partnerships with families, and (b) documenting the effectiveness of services and supports for families. Constructs and their associated measures related to partnerships include satisfaction with the overall program and empowerment. The constructs for outcomes of supports and services include social support, parenting, and family quality of life. The authors reviewed measures for each of the five constructs. They note that the selection of appropriate measures to assess the outcomes of family support and services depends on the specific configuration of support services provided by the program and that each program may have to be explicit about the outcomes it wants to impact and therefore measure.
