Efficient Copper (efficient + copper)
Selected AbstractsEfficient Copper(I)-Catalyzed C,S Cross Coupling of Thiols with Aryl Halides in WaterEUROPEAN JOURNAL OF ORGANIC CHEMISTRY, Issue 4 2008Laxmidhar Rout Abstract CuI efficiently catalyzes the C,S cross coupling of thiols with aryl halides in the presence of tetrabutylammonium bromide in water. The reactions with aryl thiols that have electron-withdrawing and -donating substituents are comparable and afford C,S cross-coupling products in high yield. (© Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. This method provides easy access from good to excellent yields of a variety of 5-ylidenebutenolides and 3-substituted isocoumarins with excellent regio- and stereoselectivity. This procedure does not require the use of any expensive supplementary additives, and is palladium-free. [source] |
