    Abstract A facile method for the asymmetric synthesis of pyrimidinone derivatives was developed via an organocatalytic tandem aza-Michael addition,hemiaminal formation,dehydroxylation reaction, using N,N, -dialkyloxyurea as dinitrogen source (up to 97% ee). The transformations of hemiaminal intermediates to pyrimidinones with more complex structures have been also investigated. [source]

    Abstract A novel and efficient route for the generation of H -pyrazolo[5,1- a]isoquinolines via silver triflate-catalyzed one-pot tandem reaction of 2-alkynylbenzaldehyde, sulfonohydrazide, and ketone or aldehyde is described. This reaction proceeds with good functional group tolerance under mild conditions with high efficiency and excellent selectivity. [source]

    Abstract Different outcomes were generated under different conditions for the tandem reactions of N, -(2-alkynylbenzylidene)hydrazides with dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate (DMAD) catalyzed by silver triflate or in the presence of electrophiles. The unexpected isoquinoline-based azomethine ylides were obtained when the reaction was catalyzed by silver triflate or in the presence of bromine, while the fused 1,2-dihydroisoquinolines were afforded when iodine was employed in the above tandem reactions.     Abstract Cyclic ketones react with (E)-2-nitroallylic acetates in the presence of catalytic pyrrolidine-thiourea, which affords bicyclic skeletons with four or five stereocenters in one single reaction with up to 98,%,ee in moderate to high yields. The cooperative effects of both enamine and the Brønsted acid are found to be crucial for the high reactivity and enantioselectivity of this cascade reaction, which is demonstrated by both theoretical calculation and experimental data.
