Novel Promising Benzoazacrown Ethers as a Result of Ring Transformation of Benzocrown Ethers: Synthesis, Structure, and Complexation with Ca2+

EUROPEAN JOURNAL OF ORGANIC CHEMISTRY, Issue 16 2003
Sergey P. Gromov
Abstract A series of promising benzoazacrown ethers with the nitrogen atom conjugated with the benzene ring were synthesized using a novel synthetic procedure based on stepwise transformation of the macroheterocycle. The structures and spectral properties of the resulting benzoazacrown ethers and their complexes with Ca2+ were studied by X-ray diffraction and 1H, 13C, and 15N NMR spectroscopy including the 2D NOESY technique. Ring transformations of heterocyclic compounds.

JOURNAL OF HETEROCYCLIC CHEMISTRY, Issue 2 2002

2,4,6-Triarylpyrylium perchlorates 1 react with methyleneindolines 3in situ generated from the corresponding methylindolium salts 2, which are spiro-fused with a cycloalkane, benzanellated cycloalkene or a heterocyclic system. These diastereoselective 2,5-[C4+C2] pyrylium ring transformations are carried out in the presence of triethylamine/acetic acid in boiling ethanol to give the dispiroindolines 4 with a trans configuration of the more bulky substituents at the cyclohexadiene ring. By the same type of transformation the dispiro compounds 7/10 with an additional fused benzene ring are obtained from the pyrylium salt 1a and 6/9, the benzo-fused analogues of 3. Spectroscopic data of the transformation products as well as their mode of formation are discussed. [source]

Ring transformations of heterocyclic compounds.

JOURNAL OF HETEROCYCLIC CHEMISTRY, Issue 2 2002

The synthesis of pyrido[1,2- a]indolium perchlorates 8,11 from 2,4,6-triarylpyrylium perchlorates 1 and 2-methyl-3H -indoles 6,9 in the presence of a basic condensing agent (anhydrous sodium acetate, piperidine acetate, triethylamine/acetic acid, triethylamine) in ethanol by a 2,4-[C3+C2N] pyrylium ring transformation is reported. Spectroscopic data of the transformation products and their mode of formation are discussed. [source]

An aminoisoflavone , salicyloylindole ring transformation

JOURNAL OF HETEROCYCLIC CHEMISTRY, Issue 3 2004
Werner Löwe
A series of 2,-nitroisoflavones 8,10, 15, 22, 27 and 28 was prepared via the (2-nitro-phenyl)-acetic acids 1, 13, 19 and 25. In order to obtain the corresponding 2,-aminoisoflavones the reduction of 8,10, 15, 22, 27 and 28 was undertaken. Surprisingly, new 3-salicyloylindoles instead of the expected 2,-aminoisoflavones were the main reduction products. In the following paper the preparation of the 2,-nitroisoflavones 8,10, 15, 22, 27 and 28 as well as the reduction experiments obtaining the 2,-aminoisoflavones 33 and 35 and the 3-salicyloylindoles 29,32, 34 and 36 will be described. Furthermore, a possible mechanism responsible for the formation of the 3-salicyloylindoles from 2,-nitroisoflavones under reductive conditions will be discussed. [source]
