Preparation of Functional Hybrid Glass Material from Platinum (II) Complexes for Broadband Nonlinear Absorption of Light

ADVANCED FUNCTIONAL MATERIALS, Issue 2 2009
Roman Zieba
Abstract The synthesis of trans -di(arylalkynyl)diphosphine platinum(II) complexes bearing trialkoxysilane groups is described, as well as the preparation of siloxane-based hybrid materials from organometallic chromophores through a modified sol,gel process. Glass materials prepared from trans -[P(n,Bu)3]2Pt[(C,C,p,C6H4,C,C,p,C6H4,CH2O(CO)NH(CH2)3Si(OC2H5)3]2 generally show spectral transmittance, absorption and luminescence similar to that of solutions reported in the literature. Measurements of optical power limiting for the hybrid glass are carried out, and show broadband nonlinear absorption throughout the whole visible wavelength range with clamping values in the range 0.2,7,µJ at 120,mM chromophore concentration. The sol,gel process using urethane-propyltriethoxysilane-functionalized chromophores as precursors appears to be a valid method for formation of robust silicate materials with grafted diarylethynyl Pt(II) complexes for OPL devices. Dodecanuclear-Ellipse and Decanuclear-Wheel Nickel(II) Thiolato Clusters with Efficient Femtosecond Nonlinear Absorption,

ANGEWANDTE CHEMIE, Issue 25 2010
Chi Zhang Prof.
[source]

Saturated absorption and reverse saturated absorption of Cu:SiO2 at , = 532 nm

PHYSICA STATUS SOLIDI (B) BASIC SOLID STATE PHYSICS, Issue 3 2004
R. A. Ganeev
Abstract Nonlinear absorption in copper-doped silicate glasses was investigated by the Z-scan technique using second harmonic radiation of a Nd:YAG laser (, = 532 nm, , = 55 ps). The simultaneous influence of saturated and reverse saturated nonlinear absorption processes was analyzed. The nonlinear absorption coefficient and the saturation intensity of copper-doped glasses at laser intensity of 5.4 × 109 W cm,2 were measured to be 6 × 10,6 cm W,1 and 4.3 × 108 W cm,2, respectively. Nonlinear absorption and refraction of CdSe/ZnS quantum dots at two-photon resonant excitation of excitons

PHYSICA STATUS SOLIDI (C) - CURRENT TOPICS IN SOLID STATE PHYSICS, Issue 7 2008
V. Dneprovskii
Abstract The observed nonlinear absorption, optical limiting and nonlinear refraction of colloidal CdSe/ZnS quantum dots in the case of two-photon resonant excitation of 1S3/2(h) , 1S (e) exciton transition by powerful picosecond laser pulses have been explained by two-photon absorption and self-defocusing effect. The results of experiments have allowed to separate self-defocusing effects arising due to the change of nonlinear refractive index of bound electrons and nonlinear refraction from two-photon generated carriers. Coherent Properties of Quantum Dot Two-Level Systems

ISRAEL JOURNAL OF CHEMISTRY, Issue 4 2006
Artur Zrenner
In a single self-assembled InGaAs quantum dot, the one-exciton ground-state transition defines a two-level system, which appears as an extremely narrow resonance of only a few ,eV width. The resonant interaction of this two-level system with cw laser fields can be studied in detail by photocurrent spectroscopy, revealing the fine structure of the excitonic ground state as well as the effects of nonlinear absorption and power broadening. For the case of pulsed laser fields and in the absence of decoherence, the two-level system represents a qubit. Excitations with ps laser pulses result in qubit rotations, which appear as Rabi oscillations in photocurrent experiments. Double pulse experiments further allow us to infer the decoherence time and to perform coherent control on a two level system. [source]

Anomalous resonant nonlinear absorption of excitons in CdSe/ZnS quantum dots

PHYSICA STATUS SOLIDI (C) - CURRENT TOPICS IN SOLID STATE PHYSICS, Issue 7 2008
V. Dneprovskii
Abstract We have explained the observed anomalous dependence of colloidal CdSe/ZnS quantum dots' (QDs) absorption upon the intensity of input picosecond laser pulses in the case of one-photon resonant excitation of exciton 1S3/2(h) , 1S (e) transition , the linear absorption at low intensity is replaced by nonlinear decreasing and then increasing of absorption (!) at high intensities , by saturation effect (state filling) of two-level system with variable lifetime of the excited state (variable saturation intensity). The lifetime decreases at high excitation due to nonradiative Auger recombination. (© 2008 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim) [source]
