Homo-coupling of Aryl Iodide and Bromide Catalyzed by Immobilized Palladium with a Bidentate Nitrogen Ligand

Abstract The immobilized palladium onto organic-inorganic hybrid material, which contains bidentate nitrogen ligands, was a very effective catalyst for homo-coupling of aryl iodide and bromide. The protocol involved the use of N,N -dimethylacetamide as a solvent, and n -tributylamine as a base. The reaction generated the corresponding homo-coupling products in good to excellent yields at low catalyst loading (0.20 mol%). Furthermore, the silica-supported palladium catalyst could be recovered and recycled by a simple filtration of the reaction solution and used for five consecutive trials without loss of its activity. Abstract Palladium-catalyzed alkynylcarbonylation of aryl iodides was accomplished by using Mo(CO)6 as a CO source. The reaction was conducted at room temperature with the use of tBu3P as a ligand, which was found to be essential for smooth carbonylation. One-pot construction of pyrazoles by using aryl iodides with electron-withdrawing groups was also accomplished under these reaction conditions in the presence of methylhydrazine. Abstract The Stille coupling of tetraphenylstannane with aryl iodides or aryl bromides using the bis(triphenylphosphine)palladium dichloride/sodium acetate/polyethylene glycol 400 [PdCl2(PPh3)2/NaOAc/PEG-400] catalytic system at 100,°C has been developed. The reactions were carried out in an atom-efficient way, as 4 equivalents of aryl iodides or aryl bromides coupled effectively with 1 equivalent of tetraphenylstannane to furnish 4 equivalents of the corresponding functionalized biaryls in high yields. Abstract The intermolecular three-component coupling of aryl iodides, diarylacetylenes, and alkenes effectively proceeds in the presence of palladium acetylacetonate and silver acetate as catalyst and base, respectively, to give the corresponding 1:2:1 coupling products, 1,3,5-hexatriene derivatives.
