Mannich Reaction (mannich + reaction)
Kinds of Mannich Reaction Selected AbstractsEffect of Varying the Anionic Component of a Copper(I) Catalyst on Homologation of Arylacetylenes to Allenes by the Mannich ReactionEUROPEAN JOURNAL OF ORGANIC CHEMISTRY, Issue 1 2008Vipan Kumar Abstract The effect of varying the anionic component of a copper(I) catalyst in the homologation of terminal arylacetylenes to allenes by the Mannich reaction was investigated. Varying amounts of allenes, Mannich bases and dimers were obtained depending on the nature of the anionic component of the copper catalyst. On the other hand, Eglinton,Glaser dimerizations were achieved in high yields with 0.5 equiv. of triethylamine. (© Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. This catalytic system performs well over a broad range of substrates, furnishing anti -adducts of various ,,,-diamino acid esters in good yields with up to 94:6 diastereoselectivity and 97% enantioselectivity. The combination of an axially chiral phosphine-oxazoline ligand (S)-2-[(R)-2,-(diphenylphosphino)-1,1,-binaphthyl-2-yl]-4-phenyl-4,5-dihydrooxazole with silver acetate and 2,2,2-trifluoroacetic acid is a very effective catalytic system in the asymmetric Mannich reaction of various aldimines with trimethylsiloxyfuran in dichloromethane at ,78,°C, affording the corresponding adducts in up to 99% yield, 99:1 (dr) and 99% ee (major diastereoisomer) under mild conditions. [source] Phase-Transfer-Catalyzed Enantioselective Mannich Reaction of Malonates with ,-Amido SulfonesADVANCED SYNTHESIS & CATALYSIS (PREVIOUSLY: JOURNAL FUER PRAKTISCHE CHEMIE), Issue 15 2006Francesco Fini Abstract The highly enantioselective reaction between in situ generated, Cbz-protected azomethines and malonates in the presence of 150 mol,% of potassium carbonate (50,% w/w) and 1 mol,% of quinine-derived quaternary ammonium bromides as phase-transfer organocatalysts has been developed. This study reports a novel approach for the asymmetric Mannich-type reaction and a wide range of azomethines, including those derived from enolizable aldehydes, is tolerated by the present system. The adducts, obtained in excellent yields with ee up to 98,%, are suitable precursors of optically pure ,-amino acids. [source] Theoretical Study on the Mechanism of the Petasis-type Boronic Mannich Reaction of Organoboronic Acids, Amines, and , -Hydroxy AldehydesCHINESE JOURNAL OF CHEMISTRY, Issue 1 2010Jingcong Tao Abstract The mechanism of a typical Petasis-type boronic mannich reaction (the styrylboronic acid, dibenzylamine, and , -hydroxylpropionaldehyde) has been investigated using density functional theory calculations. According to our calculations, the reaction is most likely to proceed through the following steps: 1) the nucleophilic addition of the amine to the aldehyde to form the carbinolamine; 2) the dehydration of the carbinolamine; 3) the formation of the tetra-coordinated borate intermediate; 4) the CC bond formation by the intramolecular transfer of the styryl group; 5) the hydrolysis of the resulting intermediate to give the final products. The highest point on the energy profile is the transition state for the CC bond formation (118.8 kJ·mol,1 above the reactants in ethanol). Our results can give reasonable explanations on some experimental facts observed for many Petasis-type boronic Mannich reactions. [source] |
