Die Allylierung/Heck-Reaktion umfasst einen neuen Aktivierungsmodus: die elektrophile Aktivierung einer Aldehydgruppe durch ein Lewis-saures PdII -Zentrum, das infolge einer oxidativen Addition in ortho -Stellung bindet.     Synthesis and Characterization of Pyrazolyl-Functionalized Imidazolium-Based Ionic Liquids and Hemilabile (Carbene)palladium(II) Complex Catalyzed Heck Reaction

    Abstract Neat reactions of 1-(pyrazolylmethyl)imidazole with an excess of alkyl or polyfluoroalkyl halides at 100 °C followed by subsequent metathetical reactions with LiN(SO2CF3)2 or KPF6 at 25 °C gave rise to a series of monoquaternary salts 3a,3k. These salts can be also prepared through treatment of 1-alkylimidazole with 1-(chloromethyl)pyrazole hydrochloride in the presence of base, followed by anion exchange with LiN(SO2CF3)2 or KPF6. Their phase-transition temperature, thermal stability, density and solubility in common solvents have been investigated. Most of the bis(trifluoromethanesulfon)amide salts are room-temperature ionic liquids. The effect of anions and of alkyl substituents bonded to the imidazolium cation on the physicochemical properties was examined. Using 3-butyl-1-(pyrazolylmethyl)imidazolium chloride (2d), the precursor of 3-butyl-1-(pyrazolylmethyl)imidazolium bis(trifluoromethanesulfon)amide (3d), as a reactant, a hemilabile (N-heterocyclic carbene)palladium(II) complex 4 was synthesized through a (carbene)silver(I) transfer reagent. It was characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.     Abstract The Heck reaction of alkylated 2-(trimethylsilyl)ethanesulfonyl (SES)-protected ,-amino esters provides benzazepines in good yields. Good selectivity towards cyclisation was obtained when the reaction was performed in PEG 3400 as the solvent under microwave activation.     Remarkable Electronic Effect on the Diastereoselectivity of the Heck Reaction of Methyl Cinnamate with Arenediazonium Salts: Formal Total Synthesis of (±)-Indatraline and (±)-Sertraline

    Abstract An efficient and stereoselective protocol for the preparation of ,,,-disubstituted acrylates in good to high yields by means of a Heck,Matsuda arylation was accomplished. The method employs a base- and ligand-free Heck arylation reaction of methyl cinnamate using both electron-deficient and electron-rich arenediazonium salts as electrophiles. The Heck reaction displays a remarkable electronic dependence regarding the diastereoselectivity of the arylation process, which correlates with the electronic nature of the arenediazonium salts employed. A rationale for the observed diastereoselectivity is presented. The overall methodology provides a convenient route to 3-arylindanones and 4-aryltetralones allowing the concise formal total syntheses of the therapeutically important psychoactive compounds (±)-indatraline and (±)-sertraline.     Heterogeneous Palladium Catalysts for a New One-Pot Chemical Route in the Synthesis of Fragrances Based on the Heck Reaction

    Abstract The one-pot synthesis of the fragrance 4-(p -methoxyphenyl)butan-2-one, with raspberry scent, has been carried out using palladium on different supports such as magnesium oxide (MgO), hydrotalcite, hydroxyapatite (HA), aluminium oxide (,-Al2O3) and titanium dioxide (TiO2). The first pathway consists of a Heck coupling between 4-methoxyiodoanisole and methyl vinyl ketone followed by hydrogenation. Palladium supported on titanium dioxide showed the best performance for carrying out both consecutive steps giving 4-(p -methoxyphenyl)butan-2-one with high yields and selectivity. The Pd-TiO2 catalyst is more active than a homogeneous palladium complex that is well accepted in the literature as being highly active for performing Heck reactions. [source]
